Four XD linear motors deliver faster, quieter, and more precise AF than the previous DDSSM system. It can track fast-moving subjects at up to 30 fps, even when stopped down. The floating focus mechanism maintains image quality across the range, with a minimum focus distance of 8.6″ and 0.32x magnification. Internal focusing keeps balance and responsiveness consistent during zooming.Improved Control and Video CapabilitiesThis lens minimizes focus breathing, focus shift, and axial shift during zooming for accurate composition. It supports Breathing Compensation on compatible Sony cameras. Linear Response MF offers natural manual focus control.
